Jaipur, Jan 27 (NationPress) Several regions in Rajasthan are once again facing extreme cold as temperatures in multiple cities have significantly decreased. Fatehpur, located in eastern Rajasthan, recorded a chilling low of 0.5 degrees Celsius early Monday, while Sangariya in the western section of the state noted a minimum temperature of 1.4 degrees.

The minimum temperatures across numerous cities in the state fell below 10 degrees, making nights particularly frigid while daytime temperatures were relatively warmer. Sikar registered a low of 1.4 degrees Celsius, Ajmer saw 7.1, Bhilwara recorded 4.9, Vanasthali at 6.0, and Alwar recorded 3.2 degrees.

Additionally, cities like Jaipur and Kota observed a reduction in minimum temperatures by 4 degrees. The Shekhawati area continued to experience severe cold over the past 24 hours, with temperatures in Churu and Sikar dropping below 4 degrees.

Sikar noted a temperature of 3.5 degrees, while Churu reported 3.6 degrees — both marking the lowest temperatures this January.

Kota also faced its coldest night this season, with a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees.

The Meteorological (MeT) Department has issued a warning about an upcoming Western Disturbance expected to arrive in early February, which could bring rain to certain areas.

Experts from the weather department anticipate no substantial relief from the cold for the next three days; however, a shift in Rajasthan's wind patterns starting January 29 may offer some respite.

Weather conditions in Rajasthan are projected to evolve from February 2, as an active Western Disturbance may influence the Jammu and Kashmir region. This system could affect Haryana, Punjab, Delhi, Rajasthan, and parts of western Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, especially in the northeastern regions of Rajasthan.

The Meteorological Centre in Jaipur forecasts clear skies and sunny weather across Rajasthan until January 28. While nighttime temperatures will remain low, enhancing the chill in the mornings and evenings, daytime sunshine will provide a degree of warmth. Beginning January 29, localized weather activity may bring clouds to parts of Bharatpur and Jaipur divisions, although rainfall is considered unlikely.
