Hyderabad, April 21 (NationPress) Three members of a family lost their lives while seven others sustained injuries in a tragic collision between two vehicles in Telangana's Medak district, according to police reports.

The incident took place on National Highway 765D near Venkat Rao Pet gate in Kowdipalle mandal during the early hours.

As per authorities, the vehicles traveling from opposite directions collided. One of the cars carried nine family members, of whom three tragically died on-site. The deceased included Ali (45), his wife Azeem Begum (40), and their one-year-old son M. D. Ghouse.

The family, hailing from Shahpur Nagar in Hyderabad, was en route to the Kulcharam Dargah in the Medak district. The injured victims were first taken to a government hospital in Narsapur and later transferred to a facility in Hyderabad.

The family was traveling in an Alto car when it was struck by a Swift Desire coming from the opposite direction.

The other vehicle was making its way from Rayalapur to Narsapur, and its driver also suffered critical injuries due to the crash.

Police have initiated a case and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is believed to have been caused by overspeeding.

In a separate incident, a teacher lost his life in another road accident in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. This occurred near Peddapur village in Veldanda mandal when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a truck.

Additionally, a lorry loaded with cotton caught fire in the Suryapet district, near Chillepalle village in Nereducherla mandal, while en route to Chennai from Karimnagar.

Locals notified the fire services, but by the time help arrived, the lorry was entirely consumed by flames. Fortunately, both the driver and the cleaner managed to escape before the fire engulfed the vehicle. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
