According to law enforcement sources, a case of reckless and negligent medical practice was filed against the compounder at Boranada Police Station on February 16, nearly 20 days after the Sadhvi’s demise.
Following the filing of the case, Rajpurohit was arrested on February 19 and was released after posting bail.

Sadhvi Prem Baisa died on January 28 at her Aarti Nagar ashram located in the Boranada area of Jodhpur. Family members reported that she was experiencing cold symptoms and difficulty breathing, prompting them to call upon compounder Rajpurohit for treatment.
After administering two injections, her condition reportedly worsened, necessitating her transfer to Preksha Hospital on Pal Road, where she was pronounced dead upon examination.
Her father, Veeram Nath, subsequently transported her body back to the ashram. After police intervention, the body was moved to the Mahatma Gandhi Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination conducted on January 29.
The family received the body the same evening, and Sadhvi Prem Baisa was laid to rest on January 30 in Pareu village, Barmer.
Viscera samples were dispatched for forensic analysis on February 2, with the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) completing its investigation within 11 days.
Based on postmortem findings and FSL reports, police sought expert medical insights to ascertain the cause of death.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) interrogated the Sadhvi’s father, social media personnel, cook, compounder, and hospital staff as part of the investigation.
Jodhpur Police Commissioner Om Prakash stated that the primary cause of death was identified as cardiopulmonary arrest stemming from a serious lung ailment.
However, the investigation also indicated that the compounder may have neglected established medical protocols during treatment, suggesting potential negligence.
Law enforcement officials have indicated that the compounder’s treatment actions breached medical guidelines, leading to the filing of a negligence case.
The investigation is ongoing, with future legal actions dependent on court proceedings and expert medical assessments.
