Jaipur, Jan 30 (NationPress) The enigmatic demise of the celebrated Rajasthani storyteller and bhajan vocalist Sadhvi Prem Baisa has ignited significant uproar among her admirers, prompting discussions in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

Political leaders from various parties are calling for a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances of her death, while the state government has pledged to conduct a meticulous investigation.

In the Assembly, Opposition Leader Tikaram Jully and BJP MLA from Hawamahal Balmukundacharya emphasized the suspicious nature of Sadhvi’s death. They urged the establishment of a high-level committee to scrutinize the case and promote transparency.

Speaking to the media, Balmukundacharya remarked that Sadhvi Prem Baisa was pivotal in uniting people with Sanatan Dharma.

“The uncertainties expressed by her devotees must be addressed. A high-level inquiry is crucial to bring the truth to light,” he stated.

He also insisted on stringent action against individuals attempting to defame the Sadhvi's reputation.

Tikaram Jully conveyed that her unexpected passing has left devotees across the state in deep shock.

“A just and unbiased investigation is vital to restore public confidence and uncover the truth,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Jawahar Singh Bedham, confirmed that police are examining the case from all angles.

“Various aspects have surfaced. The family alleges her death resulted from a misadministered injection, while the hospital claims she was brought in deceased. The matter is trending on social media, and we await the post-mortem report to disclose the complete facts,” the minister noted.

Sadhvi Prem Baisa was cremated and given samadhi on Friday in her ancestral village, Pareu, with all religious honors. Her remains were interred at the Shiv Shakti Dham Ashram, which she founded.

Numerous devotees, saints, and religious leaders from various akhadas and monasteries attended her last rites, creating a somber atmosphere. Mewar Mahamandaleshwar Ishwariya Nandgiri honored her memory, declaring that Prem Baisa was the “daughter of the entire Sanatan Dharma.”

He questioned the claims surrounding her death due to an injection and urged the medical department to undertake a thorough investigation.

Sadhvi’s father, Viramnath, has also sought justice, alleging that his daughter succumbed after receiving a wrong injection.

He expressed his willingness to cooperate fully with the authorities and undergo any medical or legal proceedings necessary. He stressed that those accountable must face severe consequences.

Born in Pareu, Sadhvi Prem Baisa lost her mother at a young age and grew up at Gurukripa Ashram in Jodhpur, where she received religious teachings from esteemed saints.

Through her enchanting bhajans and Bhagwat Katha presentations, she became renowned in India and beyond. Notable saints, including Baba Ramdev, were present at the inauguration of her Sadhana Kutir Ashram on Pal Road in Jodhpur.

Following her passing on January 28 in Jodhpur, a post-mortem was conducted, and her body was transported to Pareu late at night. Bhajans continued through the night at the ashram, with the samadhi ceremony held on Friday morning with full rituals.

As the state awaits the post-mortem report, public interest remains focused on the investigation, which is anticipated to unveil the true cause of Sadhvi Prem Baisa’s death.
