Bhopal, March 21 (NationPress) The opposition Congress party asserted on Friday that Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav is showing partiality in the distribution of development funds among the MLAs in the state.
During a press conference held in Bhopal, State Congress President Jitu Patwari alleged that BJP MLAs have been granted Rs 15 crore each for development initiatives.
He further claimed, However, the state government is exhibiting bias in fund allocation for the Assembly constituencies represented by Congress MLAs.
Patwari also sent a letter to Chief Minister Yadav, urging him to uphold his constitutional duty and allocate funds equitably to all Assembly constituencies for the public's benefit.
He stated, The government has assigned Rs 15 crore to each Assembly constituency occupied by BJP MLAs who have also been awarded the same amount for development projects this year. In contrast, Congress MLAs are still waiting for their Rs 15 crore allocation.
Subsequently, Congress MLA Jaivardhan Singh emphasized that development funds should be distributed without party bias, insisting that all MLAs possess equal rights.
Why are Congress MLAs not receiving Rs 15 crore or 30 crore while BJP MLAs have been compensated? This is a disgrace to the constituents of the opposition's Assembly seats,” Singh remarked.
Former Minister Singh, son of former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, stated that Chief Minister Yadav had assured every MLA would receive Rs 15 crore during a previous meeting.
I have also mentioned in the House that Chief Minister Yadav had committed that the government would allocate Rs 15 crore for developmental tasks. Why are Congress MLAs being denied funding for their constituencies?” he questioned.
Nonetheless, the ruling BJP dismissed the Congress allegations, asserting that funds are allocated equally to all MLAs.
Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda, who also serves as the state's Finance Minister, stated, Congress has made incorrect claims. The government ensures equal funding for each MLA, based on their performance and work reports, rather than their political affiliations.
