Dewas, Nov 13 (NationPress) In a pointed critique of Congress, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav remarked on Thursday that opposition leaders have confined their efforts to social media. This is the reason they have not secured any electoral victories in the state for the past two decades.
Yadav contended that the Congress party continuously questions the BJP government's motives regarding the large-scale organization of religious festivals, as well as the cash benefits extended to women (Ladli Behna) and farmers through various initiatives in Madhya Pradesh.
“I am puzzled as to why Congress leaders express discomfort when the BJP administration deposits funds into the bank accounts of beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Yojana and farmers for financial assistance,” the Chief Minister stated during his address to a significant gathering of farmers in Dewas district.
Further criticizing the current leadership of Madhya Pradesh Congress, headed by Jitu Patwari, Mohan Yadav emphasized that the opposition has alienated itself from the public, which explains their two-decade absence from power in the state.
“The Congress has been in opposition for 20 years due to their own missteps. If this trend continues, they may find themselves in opposition for the next 50 years, as no one will rally behind them,” Yadav remarked without naming any Congress figure.
At the event in Dewas, the Chief Minister transferred ₹233 crore into the accounts of 133,000 soybean farmers under the 'Bhavantar' scheme, asserting the state government's dedication to ensuring fair pricing for crops.
He further noted that Madhya Pradesh has earned its reputation as the 'soybean state' through the relentless efforts of its farmers.
“Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, both the central and state governments are committed to ensuring that farmers receive just compensation for their crops. This is why we introduced the Bhavantar scheme, the first of its kind in the nation,” Yadav stated.
Officials clarified that the scheme allows the government to compensate farmers from its treasury for any shortfall between the minimum support price (MSP) set by the central government and the lower prices offered by traders in local markets.
Additionally, the Chief Minister laid the groundwork for development projects worth over ₹180 crore in Dewas.
