Congress Demonstration in Hyderabad Calls for Amit Shah’s Ouster from Union Cabinet

Hyderabad, Dec 24 (NationPress) The governing Congress party in Telangana staged a significant demonstration in Hyderabad on Tuesday, advocating for the removal of Union Home Minister Amit Shah from the Union Cabinet following his alleged disrespectful comments concerning Bharat Ratna Dr B.R. Ambedkar.
Led by Mahesh Kumar Goud, the President of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), the rally commenced at the Ambedkar statue located at Tank Bund and proceeded towards the Hyderabad district Collectorate.
The Congress leaders expressed their condemnation of Amit Shah's remarks, insisting on his immediate removal from the Union Cabinet for his derogatory statements about the architect of the Indian Constitution.
A significant turnout of Congress workers participated in the rally, which began with paying homage to Ambedkar at the statue.
Notable participants included Koppula Raju, a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC), MP Anil Kumar Yadav, TPCC working president Anjan Kumar Yadav, District Congress Committee president Rohin Reddy, among other leaders.
This rally was organized as part of a nationwide initiative called by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) for the Babasaheb Samman March.
Clad in blue and brandishing placards, the demonstrators marched from the Ambedkar Statue to the Collectorate, vocally opposing Amit Shah’s remarks.
During the event, Mahesh Kumar Goud stated that Shah's comments have offended the sentiments of all citizens who uphold the Constitution. “We are demanding that Amit Shah should be removed from the Union Cabinet immediately,” he declared.
The TPCC chief further accused the BJP of harboring a concealed agenda to supplant the Constitution of India with Manusmriti. He asserted that Amit Shah’s statements were indicative of the saffron party’s covert agenda.
Mahesh Kumar Goud, who also serves as a member of the Telangana Legislative Council, charged the BJP and RSS with attempts to distort historical narratives.
Earlier, Deepa Dasmunshi, the AICC general secretary and in-charge of Telangana Affairs, indicated that the Congress would amplify its protests for Amit Shah's removal from the Cabinet.
She called for Amit Shah’s resignation due to his alleged disrespectful remarks about Ambedkar and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not dismissing Shah from the Cabinet.
Deepa also accused the BJP of undermining constitutional values while promoting Manusmriti over the Indian Constitution.
