Bhopal, Aug 6 (NationPress) On the sixth day of the monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly, Congress MLAs staged a distinctive protest at the Assembly grounds, accusing the state government of significant irregularities in its recruitment process.
Numerous Congress legislators, including women, donned police-style uniforms and caps to symbolically highlight the alleged fraud in the 2024 Madhya Pradesh Police constable recruitment. They are demanding an independent judicial inquiry into the issue.
Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar accused the BJP-led state government of encouraging corruption within the recruitment framework.
“The MP Police constable recruitment scandal is Vyapam part-2. The Opposition insists on a judicial investigation into this grave issue. Such extensive irregularities cannot occur without internal complicity from the government,” Singhar informed the media.
The ongoing scam, currently under investigation by the MP Police, has led to the filing of over 20 FIRs across various districts as of June this year. More than a dozen individuals have been arrested, and over 100 suspects are reportedly under scrutiny.
Arrests have occurred not only in Madhya Pradesh but also in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, and New Delhi.
Congress has persistently asserted that the ruling BJP is protecting influential individuals involved in the recruitment scandal.
The latest uproar pertains to a 2023 recruitment examination conducted to enlist constables into the MP Police.
Reports indicate that fraudulent candidates were introduced in the examination through the employment of “solvers”—a tactic frequently utilized in cheating scandals.
Similar patterns of irregularities have been noted in earlier recruitment exams, including for Patwaris and primary teachers, both of which were uncovered earlier in 2023.
The monsoon session of the Assembly, which started on July 28, is expected to conclude on August 8.
