Congress Questions AAP's Achievements Amidst Delhi Tableau Exclusion from Republic Day Parade

New Delhi, Dec 23 (NationPress) Amid the political confrontation between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government and the Centre over the exclusion of Delhi’s tableau from the Republic Day parade, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit on Monday mocked the Atishi administration for its claims of ‘bias and hatred’ towards the capital.
Sandeep Dikshit raised concerns regarding the rejection, but simultaneously questioned whether the city government has accomplished anything significant to showcase.
Speaking to IANS, Dikshit stated, "I don't know the exact reason for the rejection; sometimes we observe that BJP governments do not permit tableau from states where the Opposition holds power."
However, he cast doubt on AAP’s governance, asserting, "Will the Aam Aadmi Party have anything to exhibit? If any government has achieved something noteworthy, they would present it."
The Congress leader challenged what accomplishments the Delhi government could potentially display in the tableau. He claimed that issues like polluted water, defective roads, and the severely polluted Yamuna River epitomize AAP’s governance shortcomings.
He noted the unfinished infrastructure projects like schools and hospitals, accusing the Kejriwal government of favoring political campaigns over genuine development.
The controversy intensified when Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) shared a video showcasing the filth and grime in the capital’s streets.
In response, Dikshit highlighted the deteriorating cleanliness in the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) area, which is under the Chief Minister’s authority.
He remarked, "For the past 3-4 days, I have been visiting the New Delhi Municipal Corporation, where the situation is so dire that we are unable to walk properly."
On the topic of the alleged Rohingya intrusion in Delhi, Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit stated, "Why is this issue being raised? As we have been expressing for the last 2-3 years, whenever you pose this question, we have consistently provided the same answer: the Border Security Force and the Government of India are accountable for the border situation. So, how are these individuals crossing into India?"
