Congress Selects Sandeep Dikshit to Contest for Kejriwal's New Delhi Constituency in Assembly Elections

New Delhi, Dec 12 (NationPress) On Thursday, the Congress party unveiled its first list of 21 candidates for the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections.
A key highlight of this announcement is the selection of Sandeep Dikshit, the son of former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, who is set to compete for the esteemed New Delhi constituency. This seat is presently occupied by Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Chief Minister of Delhi. The Congress's Central Election Committee (CEC) has officially endorsed Sandeep Dikshit's candidacy.
The party has nominated several prominent figures for crucial constituencies. Devender Yadav, the president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), will run for the Badli constituency.
Adarsh Shastri, the grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, has been assigned the ticket for the Dwarka seat. Senior party leader Haroon Yusuf will contest from Ballimaran, while Anil Bhardwaj, who chairs the party's communication department for the Delhi unit, has been nominated for Sadar Bazar. Congress spokesperson Ragini Nayak will represent Wazirpur.
Another noteworthy candidate is Abdul Rehman, a former AAP leader who has recently joined Congress. He will contest from Seelampur, a seat he has previously represented as an MLA.
The comprehensive list of candidates features Aruna Kumari (Narela), Mangesh Tyagi (Burari), Shivank Singhal (Adarsh Nagar), Jai Kishan (Sultanpur Majra), Rohit Chaudhary (Nangloi Jat), Praveen Jain (Shalimar Bagh), Mudit Agrawal (Chandni Chowk), PS Bawa (Tilak Nagar), Abhishek Dutt (Kasturba Nagar), Rajinder Tanwar (Chhatarpur), Jay Prakash (Ambedkar Nagar), Garvit Singhvi (Greater Kailash), Anil Kumar (Patparganj), and Ali Mahndi (Mustafabad).
