Sandeep Dikshit dares Kejriwal to a debate, pledges to unveil AAP-BJP connections

New Delhi, Dec 28 (NationPress) Congress candidate from the New Delhi Assembly constituency, Sandeep Dikshit, issued a challenge on Saturday to AAP convenor and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for a public debate, declaring his intention to disclose the latter's connections with the BJP.

In an interview with IANS, Dikshit stated, "I will provide hundreds of pieces of evidence to confirm how they have facilitated the BJP's victories in both national and state elections."

"The AAP has, as part of a conspiracy, directly assisted the BJP and sought to undermine the Congress," Dikshit remarked, refuting AAP's claims that he is merely a pawn of the BJP aimed at defeating AAP.

Criticizing the AAP leaders for their tendency to make unfounded accusations, he said, "We are still awaiting the 350-page evidence that Kejriwal promised to release against Sheila ji (the former Delhi CM and late Congress leader)."

Dikshit, who is contesting the upcoming Assembly election against Kejriwal in the New Delhi constituency, asserted, "I challenge Kejriwal to present any substantial proof indicating that I have any connections with the BJP."

Pointing out the alleged misconduct of the AAP, the Congress leader mentioned LG V.K. Saxena’s directive for the Delhi Police to report within three days following an inquiry into Dikshit’s complaint about illegal political surveillance prior to the Assembly elections.

Dikshit, a former Member of Parliament, has claimed that intelligence agents from Punjab have been spotted parking their vehicles outside his residence.

The LG’s office released a statement, noting, "This pertains to a representation received from Sandeep Dikshit, former MP and candidate of the Congress for the upcoming Delhi Vidhan Sabha Elections in 2025. He has raised serious concerns regarding intelligence personnel from the Punjab government allegedly visiting his home and parking their vehicles outside his premises."

"The Lieutenant Governor has acknowledged the seriousness of these allegations. With the approaching Vidhan Sabha elections, it is crucial that potential candidates are not subjected to any form of intimidation or coercion that could impede their involvement in the democratic process,” according to a statement from Raj Niwas.
