New Delhi, Jan 30 (NationPress) Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit has thrown down the gauntlet for a debate to former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, questioning his bravery to confront the truth. He stated, "if he dares to speak the truth, only then will he appear."
"If he stands by everything he has claimed recently, he should step forward. However, if he fears his deceptions will be revealed, he might opt out," Dikshit remarked while speaking to IANS on Thursday.
Previously, on Wednesday, Dikshit extended an invitation to Kejriwal for a public debate at Jantar Mantar on Friday, January 31, from 2 to 3 pm. This challenge comes amid a rising controversy surrounding allegations against the AAP.
Dikshit also expressed concerns regarding a recent event in Delhi, where a vehicle with a Punjab license plate was discovered containing cash and AAP materials. The Punjab government has claimed that the license plate was counterfeit, but Dikshit remains doubtful.
"Whether the license plate is authentic or not, the items found in the vehicle are genuine. Bottles, cash, and AAP materials were recovered. Previously, videos showed AAP members distributing posters and calendars along with cash. Now they are asserting that the materials, money, and vehicle do not belong to them. These are merely excuses," Dikshit commented.
Furthermore, Dikshit addressed Kejriwal’s recent statements regarding the water from the Yamuna River, which came after comments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Kejriwal had accused the Haryana government of contaminating the Yamuna water.
"We are not asserting that the allegations are untrue. What we are saying is that you’ve made a grave criminal accusation. If you accuse the Haryana government, you need to present evidence. Delhi’s water board should be aware of their engineers' actions," Dikshit stated.
Earlier, Arvind Kejriwal claimed that Haryana had released industrial waste into the Yamuna River, thereby poisoning the water supply of the national capital.
