Hyderabad, Dec 2 (NationPress) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asserted on Tuesday that the Congress party is prepared to confront Prime Minister Narendra Modi over what he termed as fabricated charges against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.
He claimed that the allegations of money laundering against the senior Congress leaders were a diversion from the recent "Vote Chori" initiative spearheaded by Rahul Gandhi.
While addressing the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) State Executive meeting, the Chief Minister vehemently denounced what he labeled as the Modi government's vindictive politics against the Gandhi family.
He pointed out that the money laundering charges against the Gandhi family concerning the National Herald case were intended to distract the public from Rahul Gandhi's nationwide campaign.
"The Gandhi family has dedicated their lives to this nation. They founded the National Herald newspaper utilizing their own resources and played a pivotal role in the struggle for India's independence. Both Sonia and Rahul Gandhi have tirelessly supported the families of National Herald employees," the CM stated.
He mentioned that the Congress party has appointed significant leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge as board directors and has revitalized the newspaper without any government funds. According to him, it operates with the assets inherited from Jawaharlal Nehru.
CM Revanth Reddy announced that the party will adopt a resolution denouncing the illegal cases against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. "We are sending a strong message to Narendra Modi that we will support Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and will fight for their cause if necessary. It is everyone's duty to work towards making Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of India."
He revealed plans for the State Government to allocate substantial funds for the enhancement of Osmania University to meet international standards during a meeting set for December 7 at the Arts College. The government is also set to launch the Telangana Rising 2047 vision document at the Global Summit, aiming for a $3 trillion economy by 2047.
The Chief Minister further discussed plans to develop three regions within the state: core urban region (CURE), peri-urban region (PURE), and rural agricultural region economy (RARE). The government has decided to relocate polluting industries from the core urban area beyond the Outer Ring Road. PURE will be developed within the Regional Ring Road, while RARE will be established outside it.
He described the proposed dry port, four new airports, the Hyderabad-Bangalore Greenfield Highway, and the bullet train sanctioned by the Union government as significant advancements.
He urged party leaders to disseminate information about the welfare and development programs initiated by the government to every household in the state. He emphasized that women are pleased with the distribution of Indiramma sarees.
The CM instructed the new district Congress presidents to oversee the distribution of sarees in collaboration with village-level committees. By the end of December, 65 lakh sarees will be distributed in rural areas, and an additional 35 lakh sarees will be given to urban women by March 2026.
"Let’s engage in discussions in every village regarding the welfare and good governance provided by the people's government," he stated.
He criticized the previous government for leaving the state with significant debts and asserted that the Congress administration is driving the state toward progress against all challenges.
