Jaipur, April 14 (NationPress) The Rajasthan Congress chief, Govind Singh Dotasra, urged party members to demonstrate bravery akin to Bharat Singh in order to safeguard the Constitution. He asserted that without courage, individuals do not merit the title of Congressmen.

“They dismantle governments while you choose to remain silent. Are you afraid of imprisonment? Set aside the fear of jail – revolutionaries like Bhagat Singh were executed for our nation. If we are unable to exhibit even a modicum of courage for the Constitution, we are unworthy of the title Congressmen,” stated the state chief during his address to workers at the state headquarters on Ambedkar Jayanti.

Dotasra pointed out that those who never respected the Constitution have risen to power because the party has neglected the leaders who fought for India's independence.

“We ceased to impart their philosophies and conduct seminars about them. Now we are facing the consequences. We shall reinstate the tradition of honoring and educating the public about India’s freedom fighters and the constitutional architects like B.R. Ambedkar,” he affirmed.

He criticized superficial measures within the party, indicating that mere token efforts had diminished the Congress’s national standing to merely 50 seats previously, stressing that symbolism will not propel Congress forward.

He announced a month-long campaign aimed at protecting the Constitution, encouraging robust involvement. “Anyone who participates in this campaign is our leader. Anyone absent from party meetings for three consecutive months will be dismissed.”

Dotasra alleged that the Chief Minister’s control has been appropriated by “higher authorities,” while accusing the Governor of overstepping by holding meetings intended for state ministers.

Dotasra charged the government with breaching constitutional mandates by postponing elections and appointing administrators without lawful justification.

“Despite no amendments to the law, administrators were appointed under the pretext of ‘One State, One Election’. Elections that are due every five years are being delayed. This is a blatant breach of the Constitution,” he stated.

Dotasra also cautioned against political vendetta, asserting, “If someone from our party commits an offense, let them be arrested. However, if anyone is targeted with political malice, LoP Tika Ram Jully and I will stand by that worker. If a Congress worker is unjustly touched, we will dismantle everything,” he declared.

He also referred to former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, who recently criticized the bureaucracy, stating that despite her claims of inefficiency, the state government merely dispatched an officer to address the issue. “If Congress does not become the people's voice, then who will?” he questioned.
