Itanagar, Nov 19 (NationPress) The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd.), highlighted on Wednesday that Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding is crucial for children with special needs, asserting that such initiatives are pivotal in enhancing their access to education and daily learning experiences.
The Governor recently presented a NEEPCO (North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited) CSR-funded school bus to the Oju Welfare Association (OWA) and officially launched it from Raj Bhavan, Itanagar.
In a personal initiative to support Oju Mission School through NEEPCO's CSR efforts, the Governor praised the state-owned company for its valuable contribution. He emphasized that this support is vital for children who are otherwise capable, noting that this act will greatly improve their educational access and everyday learning opportunities.
Pointing out that Arunachal Pradesh lacks extensive industries, the Governor mentioned that the state relies heavily on power corporations for meaningful CSR initiatives.
He expressed optimism that NEEPCO would continue to spearhead projects that assist organizations dedicated to the welfare of children with special needs.
Furthermore, the Governor expressed his joy that the Oju Mission School, an institution committed to nurturing and educating some of the most deserving children, whom he fondly referred to as the state’s ‘Shining Stars’, received the vehicle.
He added that NEEPCO’s support will significantly bolster OWA’s dedication to providing care, protection, and educational assistance to children in need.
Meanwhile, during her recent three-day visit to Nagaland, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman noted that CSR investments in Nagaland have not only increased but are also aligning more closely with local development goals.
Following the state government’s organization of the 2022 CSR Conclave in Nagaland, which marked a significant turning point, numerous companies—some without any manufacturing units or service centers in Nagaland—were encouraged to engage and view Nagaland as a viable destination for impactful CSR initiatives.
