He proposed the organization of ex-servicemen rallies in partnership with Indian Armed Forces units located in Arunachal Pradesh to foster broader outreach and direct participation.
Highlighting the importance of dignified resettlement, Lt Gen Parnaik (Retd), a former Army Commander, urged for actionable measures to assist ex-servicemen through skill enhancement, job placement, and self-employment guidance.
Additionally, he recommended that the Rajya Sainik Board act as a pivotal coordinating body among the Armed Forces, the state government, Zila Sainik Boards, and the Kendriya Sainik Board to ensure effective policy application and substantial outreach to the veteran community.
On the previous day, the Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd), and the First Lady, Bharti Singh, attended a state-level ex-servicemen rally at Lammual ground in Aizawl.
Mizoram's Home Minister, K. Sapdanga, also participated in the event, emphasizing the state's honorable tradition of peace, harmony, and mutual respect between civilians and military personnel.
The Governor noted that ex-servicemen from Mizoram are distinguished among their peers nationwide, stating, "This is a model of how an ex-serviceman should conduct himself."
