New Delhi, Nov 2 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva criticized the former Arvind Kejriwal administration on Sunday for significant scams masked as Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics and accused his party of disseminating misinformation regarding the genuine reasons behind the recent shutdowns of these facilities.
The Kejriwal government’s Mohalla Clinics, set up in either temporary roadside cabins or in overpriced rented spaces from AAP affiliates, operated merely as half-day outpatient departments, serving as a platform for corruption, according to Sachdeva.
Many of these clinics lacked qualified medical personnel, being staffed instead by compounders and devoid of diagnostic capabilities, he claimed.
According to the Delhi BJP leader, the residents of Delhi have witnessed how these Mohalla Clinics morphed into fraud centers—fraudulently registering multiple patients under the same phone number and embezzling funds by conducting bogus diagnostic tests.
Most personnel working in these clinics were untrained in healthcare services, he remarked.
Their recruitment was not conducted through any formal administrative channels, with nearly all being linked to the Aam Aadmi Party, he added.
During the pandemic, when Delhi residents required local medical care and doctors the most, Kejriwal closed these Mohalla Clinics, he noted.
