Delhi BJP Criticizes CM Atishi for Inactive Schemes and Negligence-Related Deaths

New Delhi, Nov 28 (NationPress) The President of the Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, on Thursday asserted that Chief Minister Atishi has been taking undue credit for schemes that have been non-operational for the last six months, raising concerns about the over 252 deaths in the city attributed to negligence.
Sachdeva demanded clarity from the state government regarding the 252 fatalities recorded over a year due to various incidents that indicate a lack of diligence from government agencies. He highlighted that 34 individuals drowned due to water logging, 16 people lost their lives from electrocution, 7 children were killed in an unauthorized hospital fire, 15 inmates perished in Asha Kiran home, and nearly 180 homeless individuals died from the cold.
“Both former CM Arvind Kejriwal and CM Atishi attempt to distract the public from their government’s shortcomings by overstating crime incidents in the city. However, the residents of Delhi are well aware of the reality and will not fall for this misleading narrative,” he stated, responding to Kejriwal’s latest criticism of the BJP-led Central government regarding an increase in crime rates in the Capital.
Targeting CM Atishi, Sachdeva remarked, “Before boasting about her government’s achievements, CM Atishi should have conducted her research to understand that her Doorstep Delivery Scheme has been inactive for the last six months, and the EV Policy has faltered as residents are not receiving cash incentives for vehicle acquisitions.”
The Delhi BJP President drew attention to issues of corruption in the power sector, declining performance in government schools, and the substandard condition of Mohalla Clinics, which consistently embarrass the Delhi government in judicial settings.
Pointing out CM Atishi’s recent comments about her government’s “accomplishments,” the Delhi BJP President emphasized that if the Chief Minister had properly researched, she would have realized that the Doorstep Delivery Scheme has been inactive since April 1, 2024 due to the failure to renew tenders.
Regarding the Chief Minister’s assertion about the EV Policy, he noted that thorough research would have shown that the Delhi government has not sufficiently established charging stations, and cash incentives for EV purchasers have been halted since December 2023.
Consequently, there has been a notable month-on-month decline in EV sales and registrations within Delhi, he stated.
Sachdeva insisted that the Chief Minister’s claims about EV subsidies were entirely unfounded. “On one hand, the government owes outstanding subsidies to EV buyers since December 2023, while on the other hand, there is no budget allocation this year for further subsidy disbursements,” he remarked.
In another note, Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor has addressed a letter to Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena, highlighting the worsening state of the Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Memorial at Singhu Border.
He called for immediate enhancements and maintenance of the site, emphasizing that in 2011, the then Delhi Government constructed the memorial on 12 acres of land near Singhu Border to honor the ninth Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib. A notable feature of the memorial was a laser show illustrating the life of Guru Maharaj.
Unfortunately, the memorial has now been neglected. The laser show is inactive, commemorative plaques are damaged, the boundary wall is deteriorating, the toilets are in disrepair, and the grass is unkempt.
The Delhi BJP spokesperson expressed his disappointment that such a condition exists under the governance of a party that also oversees Punjab and claims to uphold Sikh pride.
