Delhi BJP Calls for AAP MLA's Removal from Assembly

New Delhi, Dec 3 (NationPress) The Delhi BJP Minority Morcha staged a protest outside Arvind Kejriwal’s residence on Feroz Shah Road, challenging the apparent silence of the AAP National Convenor and the INDIA Bloc parties regarding AAP legislator Naresh Yadav’s 2016 desecration of the Quran. The protestors also demanded Yadav's expulsion from both the AAP and the Assembly.

During the demonstration, BJP Delhi President Virendra Sachdeva asserted, “If a BJP leader were involved in a similar situation, the outcry from the INDIA Bloc would have been overwhelming. However, figures like Asaduddin Owaisi, Congress, and SP have chosen to remain silent.”

The protest was led by Minority Morcha President Anis Abbasi and included speeches from Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta, BJP leader Sardar Arvinder Singh Lovely, senior leader Atif Rasheed, and others.

“Those who profess to advocate for Muslim interests merely treat them as vote banks,” Gupta criticized, pointing out the inaction of the Delhi government despite their control over the police in Punjab, and accused Kejriwal of protecting Yadav by hiring expensive lawyers.

According to Abbasi, the Muslim community in Delhi is outraged over Yadav's actions and Kejriwal’s choice to keep him in the party. “Our protest will persist until Yadav is removed from the party,” he declared.

“The Muslims of Delhi will come together and vote against Kejriwal in the forthcoming assembly elections,” added Abbasi.

Recently, Punjab’s Malerkotla court convicted AAP MLA Naresh Yadav, sentencing him to two years in prison and imposing a fine of Rs 11,000.

Sachdeva accused Kejriwal of harboring figures like Yadav and reiterated the demand for his removal from both the Assembly and the AAP.

“This protest is not politically motivated; rather, it seeks to honor the sentiments of Muslims,” Sachdeva highlighted, criticizing the double standards of Muslim leaders and their inaction regarding Yadav’s behavior.

Other notable attendees included BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor, Morcha in-charge Sumit Bhasin, Minority Morcha in-charge Mohd. Qazi Haroon, alongside numerous Morcha leaders and activists.

Sardar Arvinder Singh Lovely remarked that the AAP government has exploited the Muslim community purely for electoral gains, foreseeing the party's downfall in the upcoming elections.

Atif Rasheed emphasized that AAP’s conduct has laid bare its hypocrisy. “While Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocates for inclusive development and trust, Kejriwal’s actions belittle minorities,” he concluded.
