New Delhi, March 4 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva on Tuesday criticized Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi, asserting that they are utilizing taxpayer funds for their yearly physical wellness and leisure activities.
The Delhi BJP chief remarked that while Kejriwal indulges in a private retreat for a week or ten days annually under the guise of Vipassana, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, embarks on secret overseas trips biannually, disregarding national issues and the interests of his own party.
Sachdeva pointed out that following the significant electoral defeat of both his party and himself in Delhi, it would be anticipated for Kejriwal to learn from his mistakes and at least act like the “Aam Aadmi” (common man) once again, if not genuinely embody it.
He lamented that Kejriwal has yet to gain any insight from his loss and is now receiving social media promotions from his close journalist associates regarding his supposed Vipassana visit to Punjab.
The Delhi BJP President alleged that Kejriwal’s presence in Punjab is not for Vipassana but to stabilize the declining Aam Aadmi Party and to strategize on securing a Rajya Sabha seat for himself.
Sachdeva concluded by stating that rather than focusing on Vipassana, Kejriwal ought to seek forgiveness and apologize to the populace of Delhi.
Furthermore, the Delhi BJP chief also criticized AAP leader and former Chief Minister Atishi for questioning the BJP government regarding the Mahila Samman Scheme.
He insisted that AAP leaders should address the people of Delhi concerning the corruption and mismanagement during their decade in power, as highlighted in the CAG report.
Sachdeva affirmed that the BJP is fully dedicated to fulfilling each promise made to the citizens of Delhi in its 2025 Assembly Sankalp Patra, including the Mahila Samman Scheme, which will be implemented soon.
However, before the BJP faces scrutiny from Atishi about this scheme, she should clarify why the proposed Rs 1,000 monthly allowance for women in the 2024-25 budget was never materialized.
Sachdeva noted that Kejriwal made similar promises in Punjab during the 2022 elections, vowing Rs 1,000 per month to women voters — yet that promise remains unfulfilled even after three years.
The women of Delhi have turned their backs on the AAP, and the women of Punjab will do the same in February 2027, he asserted.
Earlier on Monday, Sachdeva announced that the budget session of the Delhi Assembly would commence on March 24, as stated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
He underlined that the BJP government is committed to the development of Delhi and has consistently emphasized the necessity of reviving the city’s stalled progress over the last 10–11 years with a clear vision.
Sachdeva expressed his satisfaction that the entire government is taking this matter earnestly and has already begun planning and conducting meetings over the past 7–8 days.
