New Delhi, June 16 (NationPress) Expressing gratitude towards the Central government for its assistance with infrastructure initiatives, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta criticized the former AAP administration for failing to acknowledge these contributions in the past.
In a press conference following the inauguration of an exhibition commemorating 11 years of the Modi Government’s service and 100 days of the Delhi Government, she stated, “I’m thrilled that the Centre has marked 11 years while the Delhi government celebrates 100 days.”
“The efforts of the double-engine government in Delhi are praiseworthy. The Centre has consistently supported Delhi; however, the prior government did not recognize or credit this support. Today, as we assess Delhi's progress, it is evident that we have received substantial backing from the Centre in building robust infrastructure,” she remarked.
“Work is progressing across all sectors to meet the goals set for Delhi — be it air pollution, water, electricity, the Yamuna, or roads — and residents of Delhi will soon witness the outcomes,” she added.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, who was accompanied by CM Gupta and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva.
Puri noted, “Despite the current global challenges, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has remarkably propelled India’s economy to the fourth position globally.”
He emphasized that Delhi is now governed by a dedicated administration focused on serving its citizens.
Puri asserted that the objectives established by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta’s administration will yield significant benefits for the people of Delhi in the near future.
He pointed out that over the last 11 years, the Modi government has rolled out numerous public welfare schemes, all of which are well-documented. The exhibition showcases these achievements.
Puri expressed satisfaction with Delhi’s adoption of electric buses and anticipated that progress towards hydrogen energy would gain momentum.
He commended the current government's efforts to clean the Yamuna and tackle landfill challenges, noting that substantial initiatives are being undertaken to mitigate pollution, with visible results expected soon.
The Union Minister expressed gratitude to the Delhi BJP President, under whose leadership the BJP established a government in Delhi after a 27-year hiatus.
