New Delhi, April 18 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has addressed the significant challenges associated with her demanding role, asserting that the decline in the city caused by the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration may require considerable time to reverse.

In an interview with IANS, CM Gupta remarked: "Every area faces challenges. The earlier governments have left the city in such a deteriorated state that we need to address all factors, including damaged roads, blocked sewers, and drains."

Emphasizing pollution as a critical concern, she stated: "The government is diligently working on a comprehensive plan to combat pollution throughout the year. While we await noticeable results from these initiatives, we will have to endure the current conditions in the city."

She acknowledged the undeniable reality that Delhi is grappling with pollution.

"The previous administrations failed to take action to tackle the pollution crisis," she stated, underscoring the measures implemented by the BJP government to manage dust and control vehicular emissions.

She mentioned that to improve the city’s air quality, the government is also encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs).

"We aim to increase the number of people using EVs," she noted.

Earlier on Thursday, CM Gupta participated in a meeting at Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, where he reviewed the cleaning of the Yamuna River and proposed the use of space technology and community involvement to rejuvenate the sacred river and provide a memorable experience for Chhath devotees.

Criticizing AAP leaders for engaging in the politics of deceit, the Chief Minister remarked: "They excel at storytelling and are attempting to fabricate a false narrative concerning power outages."

She stated that there are no public grievances regarding power cuts and that the situation is entirely managed, dismissing the images of "candle-light" dinners shared on social media by AAP leaders as a "gimmick" to amplify their claims of widespread power cuts under the BJP government.
