New Delhi, April 3 (NationPress) - A special court established by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Delhi has found and sentenced four individuals guilty, including two former officials from the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, linked to a 2006 land allotment scam involving the Maharani Awanti Bai Cooperative Group Housing Society, as announced by the agency on Friday.
On Thursday, the court imposed rigorous imprisonment of one year on Lila Krishna Seth, the then assistant registrar, and 18 months on Zafar Iqbal, who served as inspector grade III at the Registrar's office, according to the CBI.
Both officials were also penalized with a fine of Rs 20,000 each.
Additionally, two private individuals, Ram Narayan Aggarwal and Om Prakash Aggarwal, who were officials of the Maharani Awanti Bai Cooperative Group Housing Society, received a sentence of two years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000 each.
