New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) Delhi is now in “secure hands” with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta leading the charge, stated Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena on Friday, praising her unwavering commitment and dedication to enhancing the national Capital's welfare.

While speaking at the 17th Convocation of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), LG Saxena remarked, “I can now confidently say that Delhi is in secure hands. From what I have observed of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta over the past month and a half, her concern for the city is constant and she is devoted to Delhi 24/7.”

As the Chancellor of the University, LG Saxena urged students to become responsible citizens and learn from their educators and personal experiences.

He encouraged them to commit to realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of 'Viksit Bharat 2047'.

“An education that fails to bring joy to people, especially the marginalized, is not a successful one,” he stated.

Describing the event as a red-letter day in the lives of the graduates, the LG expressed, “This day will remain a red-letter day for all of you, permanently etched in your personal and professional journeys.”

He expressed delight that nearly 40 percent of the graduating M.Phil students were women and congratulated the university for awarding 3,112 PG degrees, 21,222 UG degrees, 12 M.Phil degrees, and over 100 Ph.D. degrees.

“As you step out of your alma mater today, you bear your own responsibilities, as well as those of your families and society, in achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047,” he remarked.

He encouraged students to let their degrees guide them in humility, dedication, and selflessness as they progress in life.

“The increasing number of women pursuing higher education and degrees, particularly doctorates, signifies a transforming educational landscape.”

“This is particularly remarkable in Delhi, where we have the unique distinction of a woman Chief Minister alongside a woman Leader of the Opposition,” he added.

He noted that in just 25 years, GGSIPU has emerged as a multi-dimensional university and a beacon of knowledge and innovation.
