New Delhi, Feb 14 (NationPress) On Saturday, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi and DDA Chairperson V.K. Saxena officially opened the ‘DDA Green Expo 2026’ along with the Palaash Mahotsav 2026 at Baansera, situated by the banks of the Yamuna. He urged every resident to take ownership of the environment.

The Palaash festival signifies the shift from winter to spring, symbolizing renewal, vibrancy, and unity. This year marks the inaugural organization of the festival across four venues simultaneously from February 14 to 16, as noted in an official statement.

The LG remarked, “Who could have envisioned just three years ago that this once degraded and polluted area would transform into a ‘Green Expo’ and serve as a foundation for envisioning a sustainable future for Delhi?”

In a social media post, he shared, “Baansera stands as a remarkable example of revitalizing and reclaiming degraded land, embodying resilience and effort. I hope this Expo generates thoughtful discussions and actionable solutions to Delhi's environmental challenges.”

“Let us envision a Delhi where every citizen enjoys clean air, each neighborhood is shaded by trees, every riverbank is nurtured, and every individual takes responsibility for the environment,” he expressed.

The DDA conveyed on social media, “Day 1 at DDA Green Expo commenced purposefully. From the inaugural event and MoU signings to the unveiling of the logo, keynote speeches, and guided tours of the exhibition, the first half established a vision for Delhi’s climate-resilient future.”

Besides Baansera at Birsa Munda Chowk, the Palaash Festival is being celebrated at Ashoka Garden in Ashok Vihar, Lala Hardayal Park in Jasola, and Smriti Van in Narela, each focusing on a unique theme that celebrates nature, sustainability, and community life.

Designed as a city-wide spring celebration, the Palaash Mahotsav coincides with Delhi's seasonal bloom, pleasant weather, and a festive weekend, motivating citizens to explore the city’s green spaces, as stated.

Each venue showcases thematic floral displays, curated gardens, landscape installations, and public activity zones, collectively narrating Delhi’s connection with nature.

The festival underscores the DDA’s ongoing commitment to sustainable urban development and the enhancement of public green spaces within the city.

Attendees are treated to intricate floral arrangements, seasonal plant exhibitions, and interactive green installations, highlighting both ornamental and native plant species.

Complementing the horticultural displays are artisan stalls, food courts, cultural performances, workshops, and interactive activities, ensuring the festival is inclusive and engaging for families, students, and visitors of all ages.
