New Delhi, Sep 5 (NationPress) In an extraordinary operation, Dwarka Police successfully captured two infamous snatchers who each have over 30 serious criminal cases to their name, following a thrilling 30-kilometre pursuit through the bustling streets of Delhi.
The suspects, identified as Parminder Singh alias Prince (28) and Amandeep alias Amanpreet Singh alias Golu (36), were arrested within just 2.5 hours after their latest crime spree.
According to a press release from the Dwarka District Police, “Two wanted snatchers—history sheeters with over 30 significant criminal antecedents each—were caught in a mere 2.5 hours. Twelve snatching cases have been solved, leading to the recovery of seven mobile phones, cash, jewelry, the motorcycle used, clothing, and more, seized by the officers at Police Post, Sec-10 Dwarka.”
This operation was conducted under the guidance of DCP Dwarka, Ankit Singh, IPS.
A dedicated team led by SI Rajat Malik, in collaboration with ASI Sanjeev Singh Teotia, ASI Kirti Kumar, HC Kamlesh Kumar, HC Naresh Kumar, HC Shaitan Singh, and HC Mukesh Kumar Kuldeep, worked closely with SHO PS Dwarka South Inspector Rajesh Kumar Sah and ACP Dwarka Kishore Kumar Rewala.
The pursuit commenced after receiving a PCR call on August 27 regarding a teacher's mobile phone being snatched near a school in Sector-10, Dwarka. Shortly thereafter, another report of a purse snatching in Sector-4 was received.
Responding quickly, the police tracked the stolen mobile’s location and pursued the suspects on both police and civilian motorcycles. “Worried about the safety of the general public in crowded areas, the team refrained from firing shots at the desperate criminals,” the release mentioned.
The arrests resulted in the recovery of seven stolen mobile devices, cash, metro cards, jewelry, the motorcycle used in the crimes, and the clothing worn during the snatchings.
The police have filed applications for bail cancellation against both suspects, who have multiple cases registered across seven districts in Delhi, including serious charges under the Arms Act, robbery, dacoity, and manslaughter.
This operation not only resolved 12 snatching cases but also returned stolen goods to the rightful owners.
Authorities anticipate that more cases may be linked to this duo as investigations proceed.
