New Delhi, May 31 (NationPress) - The Delhi Police announced on Saturday that they have successfully resolved a robbery case involving Rs 10 lakh that occurred in Sector-3, Rohini, earlier this month.
Authorities have apprehended six suspects and recovered Rs 8.68 lakh from them, according to police reports.
The robbery took place on May 21, following a call to the PCR stating that one Kuldeep Kumar had been robbed of Rs 10 lakh near Maharaja Agrasen Marg, across from the Power House in Sector-3, Rohini.
The victim, who works for a chartered accountancy firm, was on his way back to the office after collecting cash from a trading company located in Avantika Market, Rohini.
According to police reports, two individuals on a motorcycle intercepted the victim’s bike and snatched the bag containing the cash before escaping. A case was registered at the South Rohini Police Station under the appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
An investigative team led by Inspector Gyaneshwar Singh was formed to look into the incident.
CCTV footage from the victim’s route indicated that another motorcycle with three young men was following him. The suspects were identified as Jatin Tiwari, also known as Langda, who resides in Vijay Vihar, and Rahul, a resident of Rithala.
The motorcycle involved in the crime was registered to Ravinder from Rithala village.
On May 22, Jatin Tiwari, aged 22, was arrested and confessed that after the robbery, he handed the stolen bag to his accomplice Prince, also known as Lallu, who was with Arslan Pathan and Kapil Patel.
Tiwari disclosed that they received inside information about the cash from Yogender Singh, alias Raja, a former employee of the same CA firm.
Following this, the remaining suspects were apprehended.
With all six accused in custody, police recovered Rs 8.68 lakh of the Rs 10 lakh that was stolen.
