New Delhi, Sep 27 (NationPress) The National Capital marked World Tourism Day with the 16th Champion’s Run, hosted at the Gandhi Darshan site, to enhance awareness and engagement in India’s flourishing tourism sector.

The event was graced by notable figures, including Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra and BJP leader Vijay Goel, who commended the Central government's ongoing initiatives to elevate Delhi and India as premier tourist destinations.

During the event, Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra addressed attendees, emphasizing how Delhi is positioning tourism as a vital element of its cultural and economic landscape.

“On World Tourism Day, various cultural programs are being organized throughout Delhi. The Prime Minister has underscored the significance of promoting tourism. Across Delhi and India, numerous tourist destinations are being developed, including newly established sites like Kartavya Path,” Mishra noted.

Mishra also outlined a grander vision for the Capital: “The vision of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is to evolve Delhi from a mere transit hub into a vibrant tourism hub, transforming the city into a destination where individuals can stay and explore.”

In his remarks, Goel highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing tourism under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.

“Each year, on World Tourism Day, the Champion’s Run is organized in Delhi to advocate for tourism. Prime Minister Narendra Modi stresses the need for tourism promotion, and in light of this, the government is actively working to develop new tourist attractions in Delhi for visitors to discover more about India,” he stated.

Goel further asserted: “As Prime Minister Narendra Modi often remarks, the tourism opportunities in our nation are unparalleled. India boasts everything from seas and deserts to mountains and diverse climates, which cannot be found elsewhere.”

The 16th Champion’s Run not only celebrated the essence of tourism but also reminded us of the vast, untapped potential within the country’s cultural and historical treasures.
