New Delhi, Aug 10 (NationPress) In a vibrant show of patriotism and youthful enthusiasm, Delhi Minister Ashish Sood officially launched the remarkable ‘Tiranga Run’ from Thyagraj Stadium on Sunday morning.
The event, organized by the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT of Delhi, saw the participation of 7,900 students and young individuals who ran from Thyagraj Stadium to the National War Memorial, proudly displaying the Tricolour in tribute to India’s freedom fighters and martyrs.
This initiative was part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, a key program of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, led by the Ministry of Culture to foster a personal connection with the national flag and enhance patriotic sentiment among citizens.
While launching the run, Minister Sood remarked, “In anticipation of the country’s 79th Independence Day, 7,900 youths carrying the Tiranga commenced their journey from Thyagraj Stadium to the National War Memorial, where they will honor the martyrs. Responding to the appeal of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Delhi is embracing a Tirangamay spirit.”
He also revealed future plans under the campaign: “In the upcoming days, the daughters of Delhi will take to the streets on bicycles, proudly holding the national flag. Everyone present today pays their sincere tribute and respect to the brave heroes who sacrificed their lives for our nation.”
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign aspires to transform the act of hoisting the flag into a deeply personal and symbolic act of national unity.
By encouraging citizens to display the flag in their homes, the initiative aims to cultivate a stronger emotional connection with the Tiranga, turning the national celebration into a true grassroots movement.
India is set to celebrate its 79th Independence Day on August 15, commemorating the day it achieved freedom from British rule in 1947. The main event occurs at the Red Fort, where the Prime Minister raises the Tricolour.
