Etawah (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 2 (NationPress) In a sharp critique of the Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government, Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri constituency alleged that it is concealing the facts surrounding the tragic Mahakumbh stampede, which claimed the lives of at least 30 individuals.

She asserted that the Yogi government is preoccupied with obscuring the truth about the Mahakumbh incident.

While attending the 'Tilak ceremony' of Samajwadi Party MP Jitendra Dohare's son, Dimple Yadav told reporters: "The Yogi government is intent on concealing the incident that occurred during the Mahakumbh. In reality, the event is quite significant... the government is persistently attempting to hide it. They are focused on garnering false accolades for the Mahakumbh Mela."

Dimple Yadav expressed concern that the government and its entire apparatus are attempting to sweep the Mahakumbh incident under the rug.

"We wish to convey to the government that those who are lost should be helped, and the families must receive the remains of their loved ones. Their suffering must be acknowledged," she remarked.

She also accused the government and officials of withholding information regarding the Mahakumbh tragedy that is being reported by the media.

"No one is stepping forward to assist those in distress. This conduct from the Yogi government is truly reprehensible," she stated.

In the context of a recent incident involving the rape and murder of a Dalit woman in Ayodhya, the Samajwadi Party called for justice for her family.

On the topic of crime in the state, she said, "This indicates that law and order has completely deteriorated in Uttar Pradesh."

Earlier on the same day, Awadhesh Prasad, the Samajwadi Party MP from Faizabad, broke down during a press conference over the rape and murder of a Dalit woman, vowing to resign if the criminals are not apprehended and punished.

Prasad's emotional reaction was triggered by the murder of a 22-year-old Dalit woman whose remains were found in Ayodhya, falling within the Faizabad constituency.

Reports reveal that her body was discovered in a canal near her village. Family members indicated she had been assaulted before her murder, and her eyes were also gouged out.

In a press interaction, the MP was seen crying over the incident, expressing regret that he could not protect her.

A video of Prasad's breakdown went viral on social media, showing him in tears while colleagues provided comfort.

"I will bring this matter before the Lok Sabha and the Prime Minister. I will resign from the Lok Sabha if justice is not served. We are failing to protect our daughters. How could this happen to our daughter?" he lamented in the video.

The incident has sparked outrage among villagers, with family members demanding strict action against those responsible.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also acknowledged the incident, promising that those guilty will face the severest punishment.
