Dinesh Sharma Critiques Akhilesh Yadav for Overlooking Kumbh Mela Invitations as CM

Lucknow, Dec 30 (NationPress) In the midst of political jabs exchanged over the Kumbh Mela preparations, former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and BJP member Dinesh Sharma has criticized Akhilesh Yadav, Chief of the Samajwadi Party (SP), for neglecting to invite the public to the event while he was serving as Chief Minister.

"He (Akhilesh Yadav) failed to extend invitations, which reflects his neglect of responsibilities. He ought to have done so, but his previous administrations were not interested in encouraging public attendance," Sharma stated.

Sharma pointed out that the Kumbh Mela is an ancient event that has drawn millions for centuries.

"The Kumbh has been celebrated for thousands of years, and people have always attended. Today, the world is amazed by the new arrangements being implemented for the Kumbh," he added, underscoring the improvements made under the current administration.

The BJP leader commended the government's efforts in orchestrating the Kumbh, noting the extensive preparations and record-setting attendance.

"The government has organized such a vast event that numerous records have been shattered. I would assert that the government deserves accolades," Sharma remarked.

Earlier, SP Chief Akhilesh Yadav had criticized the BJP-led Uttar Pradesh government for inviting top national leaders to the Mahakumbh 2025, indicating that millions attend the Kumbh Mela not due to invitations, but rather out of faith.

"Kumbh does not require invitations. People come to Kumbh on their own volition due to their faith. I have no desire to comment on anyone," Akhilesh Yadav told reporters.

He further stated, "We have learned and understood that individuals attend such events independently. Are the countless people expected at the Kumbh Mela really invited? This government is different."

Akhilesh also questioned the readiness of the BJP-led state government as it approaches the Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, offering assistance from his party members.

"The Kumbh should conclude with enthusiasm. If the government needs any support, our party members are prepared to assist. However, based on the arrangements we’ve observed, we’ve noticed that certain tasks remain incomplete. How will they manage to finish everything in just 13 days?" he inquired.
