Key Takeaways
Hyderabad, April 7 (NationPress) - The Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) apprehended four individuals involved in drug trafficking and confiscated illegal substances during simultaneous operations at three distinct locations, according to a senior official's statement on Tuesday.
In collaboration with Chilkalguda, Sanath Nagar, and Adibatla Police Stations, HNEW executed coordinated raids. The operation led to the arrest of one interstate drug trafficker, one local dealer, and three sub-dealers, alongside the recovery of various illicit drugs, vehicles, mobile devices, and cash, amounting to an estimated total of Rs 63.65 lakh.
In the first incident, within the jurisdiction of the Chilkalguda police station, authorities arrested 18-year-old student Sai Nikhil Yadav, seizing 115 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 11.50 lakh.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Vaibhav Gaikwad, revealed that Nikhil Yadav developed a drug habit during his college years. In order to feed his addiction and make easy money, he connected with an older college peer (currently evading capture) and became a sub-dealer.
He has prior involvement in two separate drug-related cases within the Hyderabad and Cyberabad police jurisdictions.
In another case, H-NEW, in conjunction with Sanath Nagar police, detained 28-year-old Simhachalam, an interstate dealer, and 23-year-old Venu, a sub-dealer.
Authorities seized 1005 grams of Hash oil and two mobile phones valued at Rs 12.75 lakh from their possession.
Simhachalam, a welder hailing from Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, began as a transporter along the Andhra Pradesh–Odisha border before evolving into an interstate drug dealer. He established connections with suppliers to create a drug distribution network in Hyderabad using sub-dealers. He has a criminal history and is involved in multiple NDPS cases filed in Cyberabad and Sangareddy, having previously been placed in judicial custody.
In the third operation, H-NEW, along with Adibatla police, arrested 35-year-old local dealer Akshay A Patel and 25-year-old sub-dealer Babburi Aditya Vardhan.
According to the DCP, authorities seized 363 grams of ecstasy pills, 41 grams of OG, four grams of LSD Blots, a motorcycle, two mobile phones, and Rs 50,500 in cash, all worth Rs 39.40 lakh.
Akshay Patel, a graduate, initially procured drugs for personal consumption but later transitioned to being an intermediary and eventually a full-fledged dealer, obtaining drugs through courier services and encrypted apps. He systematically developed a local distribution network by involving associates.
Babburi Aditya Vardhan, having fallen into a negative social circle during his schooling, became addicted to drugs and dropped out of education. Despite efforts at rehabilitation, he relapsed and resumed drug use. Due to financial constraints, he joined the network as a sub-dealer, supplying drugs throughout the city for commission, police reported.
