New Delhi, Sep 19 (NationPress) The Delhi Transport Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh announced on Friday that the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is set to introduce a new interstate AC bus service linking Maharana Pratap ISBT (Kashmiri Gate) in Delhi with Baraut in Uttar Pradesh during the ongoing Sewa Pakhwada, which will continue until October 2.
As part of the celebrations for the 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the new service will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, enhancing travel options for daily commuters and students between the two regions.
Six daily AC interstate services will significantly improve connectivity along the Delhi-UP corridor at affordable prices.
The AC bus service will commence from Maharana Pratap ISBT in Delhi and will make stops at Khajuri Khas, Bhajan Pura, Loni Bus Station/UP Border, Loni, Mandolla, Khekra, Katha, Baghpat, Goripur, Saroorpur, and Tyodhi before arriving at Baraut.
Buses departing from Baraut will follow a similar route before reaching Maharana Pratap ISBT.
The Delhi-Baraut AC services will be operational at 4:50 a.m., 5:20 a.m., and 5:50 a.m.; the return services from Baraut will run at 7 a.m., 7:30 a.m., and 8 a.m. Evening departures will further enhance connectivity with AC buses from Delhi to Baraut at 5 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 6 p.m., while buses from Baraut to Delhi will leave at 7:30 p.m., 8 p.m., and 8:30 p.m., as stated by the Minister.
With a total route length of approximately 60 km, the Delhi government has ensured fares remain accessible. The minimum fare is set at Rs 32, while the maximum fare is capped at Rs 125 for the complete journey between Maharana Pratap ISBT and Baraut.
Dr Singh also indicated that additional interstate AC bus routes will soon be established to connect the national capital with nearby areas and states.
These services aim to promote religious tourism and enhance cultural connectivity while maintaining reasonable fares to ensure travel accessibility for all.
On this occasion, the Transport Minister emphasized, “This new interstate AC bus service is not merely about improving mobility; it is about uniting communities, supporting livelihoods, and making travel comfortable and affordable for everyone. With these new routes, we are laying the foundation for both economic growth and cultural exchange.”
