BRICS unites 11 prominent emerging markets and developing nations - Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates. It offers a valuable platform for dialogue and collaboration on pressing global and regional matters, alongside issues relating to global political and economic governance.
The logo for India’s chairmanship of BRICS harmoniously blends tradition and modernity. Its petals shimmer with the vibrant colors of all member nations, symbolizing their collective strength and unity. At its core, the “Namaste” gesture represents India’s essence of warmth, respect, and cooperative spirit.
"The visual identity is complemented by the three foundational pillars of BRICS: Political & Security cooperation, Economic & Financial partnerships, and People-to-People exchanges, which are subtly conveyed through the logo’s message of inclusivity, dialogue, and mutual growth. Collectively, this design encapsulates the broader vision of BRICS for cooperation, sustainable development, and global harmony," stated an official announcement.
The website serves as a platform for updates concerning BRICS initiatives and events during India's presidency.
The theme for India's BRICS chairmanship is 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability.' "India’s BRICS Chairship is directed by the theme 'Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,' which reflects a people-centered and humanity-first approach articulated by our Hon’ble Prime Minister at the 2025 Rio Summit," the statement mentioned.
The BRIC formation was established during the inaugural meeting of BRIC Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York in 2006.
