Engage in Politics with Purpose, Not Personal Gain: PM Modi's Advice to the Youth During Podcast Debut

New Delhi, Jan 10 (NationPress) In a candid and enlightening dialogue with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath during his inaugural podcast, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the necessity for youth to engage in politics, advocating that they should enter this realm with a mindset of dedication and sacrifice.

The podcast trailer was personally shared by PM Modi on his X account.

"I hope you all enjoy this as much as we enjoyed creating it for you!" PM Modi expressed.

Throughout an extensive two-hour discussion, PM Modi delved into topics ranging from his formative years, education, challenges faced, and risk management skills. He reflected on the principles of life that characterize successful political journeys, urging the younger generation to approach politics with a spirit of "sacrifice and dedication, rather than ambition alone."

PM Modi emphasized that being a politician differs from achieving success in politics, clarifying that true success demands commitment, empathy, and teamwork.

"Winning the hearts of the people and sharing their lives is what defines a good leader," he stated.

The Prime Minister further mentioned that it is essential for capable individuals to enter politics with a mission, not for personal ambitions."

When questioned about youth involvement in politics, he asserted, "India needs one lakh dedicated young politicians, motivated by a selfless intention to serve the nation."

He also reiterated his previous statement made from the Red Fort, emphasizing the need for one lakh young leaders who prioritize the nation's welfare over personal aspirations.

"I stated from the Red Fort that the nation needs one lakh such youth to participate in politics. If the goal is merely to take, achieve, and gain, then that ambition will not endure. In politics, the focus is on sacrifice." said PM Modi.

PM Modi also identified the traits that characterize exceptional leaders, including empathy, hard work, and communication skills. Drawing a comparison with Mahatma Gandhi, he illustrated how the principles of a leader inspire others, despite Gandhi himself being distinctive in his appearance.

PM Modi accentuated the importance of unity and selflessness.

"During the independence movement, every segment of society united for the love of the nation. Leaders like Mahatma Gandhi were not defined by their looks or age but by their principles and commitment to the country," he remarked.

Referencing Ashok Bhatt, a party worker and minister, PM Modi commended his dedication, reminiscing how Bhatt would respond to calls at any hour and personally address concerns regarding accident-prone roads in Vadodara. This selfless dedication, he noted, exemplifies the demanding yet rewarding nature of political life.

PM Modi also shared personal stories, recalling how he left home at a young age and lost touch with childhood friends.

"After becoming Chief Minister of Gujarat, I invited around 35 of my former classmates, teachers, and relatives (in separate meetings) after leaving home at a young age to reconnect and catch up with them," he conveyed to Kamath, stressing that such gatherings kept him grounded and humble.

Nikhil Kamath also praised PM Modi's vision, expressing hope that the podcast would inspire young people to consider politics as a 'meaningful' career path.
