Agartala, Feb 14 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Tripura, Manik Saha, emphasized on Saturday that engineers are essential contributors to the state's comprehensive growth and are crucial in the vision of a “New Tripura,” which is pivotal for realizing a “New India.”
During his address, Saha highlighted that in addition to fulfilling their professional duties with commitment, engineers also engage in social initiatives, and government development schemes largely hinge on their technical know-how.
These comments were made at the inauguration of a voluntary blood donation drive coinciding with the sixth biennial conference of the Association of Service Engineers of Tripura at the Sukanta Academy auditorium.
While addressing the attendees, he stated: “Work transcends religion and political affiliations — it is imperative that we approach it without bias. Trust is cultivated through organization. Previously, selective employee transfer lists impeded the state's advancement. Since our administration took charge, we have prioritized action.”
He noted that over the past year, projects worth approximately Rs 1,300 crore have either been inaugurated or had their groundwork laid, with such development endeavors continuing consistently. “These initiatives rely heavily on engineers, as technology is integral today. Engineers should focus on adopting advanced technologies,” Saha remarked.
The Chief Minister also underscored the necessity for engineers to continuously improve their skills and foster innovative thought, assuring that the state government would provide full support in this regard. “Be it the Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, National Hydrology Mission, PRASAD project, or road construction, development across all sectors is contingent upon engineers. All projects must be completed within set timeframes and of such quality that they are remembered for generations,” he mentioned.
Saha further pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently advocated for the construction of a New India. “In this context, a New India is only feasible with a New Tripura. The government has high expectations from engineers in this endeavor. The success of development projects relies on your dedication. You are the artisans responsible for shaping the state, the nation, and the future,” he concluded.
Distinguished guests at the event included Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, General Secretary of the engineers’ organization Sona Ranjan Debbarma, and Chairman of the organizing committee Laxman Sarkar, along with other senior members and leaders.
