Explosion Reported at Amritsar Police Station; Officials Refute Claims

Chandigarh, Dec 17 (NationPress) An explosion was reported at a police station in Punjab's Amritsar during the early hours of Tuesday, instilling fear among the community.
However, law enforcement authorities have denied that any such incident occurred at the police station.
Residents claimed they heard a loud noise at approximately 3 a.m. Senior police officials promptly arrived at the scene to investigate.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar rejected the reports of an explosion, stating that while locals did hear a sound, there was no resultant damage.
Reports indicate that a gangster based in Germany, Jeevan Fauji, has taken responsibility for the alleged blast.
Just three days prior, three individuals linked to the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) were apprehended in relation to a hand grenade attack on a police post in Nawanshahr, Punjab, as confirmed by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Yugpreet Singh, Jaskaran Singh, and Harjot Singh. Authorities also confiscated two firearms—a makeshift pistol and a revolver—along with six cartridges from them.
This incident follows a hand grenade assault on a police post in Asron on December 2, which was also executed by miscreants.
DGP Yadav revealed that these individuals are part of a KZF module directed by operatives in Germany, Britain, and other nations, with the objective of targeting police facilities and leaders of minority communities in Punjab and Haryana. This module has reportedly received Rs 4.5 lakh in funding over the past six months.
Initial investigations suggest that the arrested individuals obtained a hand grenade from a dead letter box (DLB) in Jalandhar on November 28 and subsequently threw it at the police post on December 2. A DLB is a covert location used for exchanging items or information without direct contact.
Detailing the operations, Assistant Inspector General (Jalandhar) Navjot Singh Mahal stated that a team from CI Jalandhar, alongside SBS Nagar Police, established a checkpoint near the railway crossing in SBS Nagar city, leading to the arrest of the suspects as they arrived on a motorcycle. Their motorcycle has also been seized.
Investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend additional members of this terror network.
