Three Individuals Linked to Khalistan Zindabad Force Detained in Punjab

Chandigarh, Dec 14 (NationPress) Three individuals linked to the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) module have been detained in connection with a hand grenade assault on a police post in Nawanshahr in Punjab, stated Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Saturday.
The detained suspects have been named as Yugpreet Singh, Jaskaran Singh, and Harjot Singh. Law enforcement discovered two firearms in their possession—a homemade pistol and a revolver—along with six cartridges.
This arrest occurs less than two weeks following an incident where assailants targeted the police post at Asron by launching a hand grenade on December 2.
DGP Yadav indicated that the suspects are part of the KZF module overseen by operatives based in Germany, Britain, and other nations, which has been directed to attack police facilities and minority leaders in both Punjab and Haryana. This module has reportedly accumulated Rs 4.5 lakh in funding over the past six months.
Initial investigations have revealed that the detained individuals secured a hand grenade from a dead letter box (DLB) in Jalandhar on November 28, which they subsequently used in the assault on December 2. A DLB serves as a covert location for exchanging information or items without direct contact.
In detailing the operation, Assistant Inspector General (Jalandhar) Navjot Singh Mahal mentioned that a team from CI Jalandhar along with SBS Nagar Police established a checkpoint near the railway crossing in SBS Nagar city and apprehended the suspects while they were riding a motorcycle. The police have also confiscated their motorcycle, he added.
He further stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover and detain other members of this terror module.
