New Delhi, Nov 10 (NationPress) Following a significant recovery of explosives, timers, and an assault rifle in Faridabad by the Haryana and J&K Police, and the arrest of two Kashmiri doctors, Union Minister Giriraj Singh asserted that individuals claiming terrorism lacks a religion should reconsider.
Commending the rapid response of law enforcement, Singh attributed the successful operation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, emphasizing the importance of timely action.
“I express my gratitude to the government for its prompt action in apprehending the suspect -- the credit belongs to Prime Minister Modi,” Singh remarked. “Moreover, those who believe that terrorism is devoid of religion should pay attention: the individual captured is a doctor involved in what seems to be religious terrorism, with approximately 300 kg of explosives that could have threatened not only Faridabad but also Delhi.”
The minister noted that while investigations are ongoing regarding the motive behind this plot, it should act as a wake-up call for political parties.
“This may have been intended to disrupt the Baba Bageshwar Yatra -- though I cannot say for certain -- yet leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Rahul Gandhi, and Lalu Yadav will likely remain silent as this doctor represents their voter base,” he commented.
Echoing similar concerns, Uttar Pradesh Minister Anil Rajbhar expressed that political appeasement is fostering extremist actions.
“Those who provide protection for electoral gain ultimately strengthen terrorist activities. Conversely, the government’s decisive measures aim to eradicate terrorism from our nation’s land,” Rajbhar asserted.
While officials did not confirm the presence of RDX specifically, they affirmed the recovery of explosive materials, timers, firearms, and ammunition.
Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta detailed that the operation seized 20 timers, four battery timers, an assault rifle, 83 live rounds, one pistol, two magazines, and additional weapons.
“This operation was conducted in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Police and is ongoing,” Gupta stated, withholding further details due to the sensitive nature of the investigation.
This operation followed the arrest of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather, a Kashmiri doctor apprehended in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur for allegedly displaying posters supporting the banned terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed in Srinagar.
Based on intelligence gathered during his interrogation, raids were executed in Faridabad, resulting in the capture of another doctor, Mujammil, a resident of Pulwama (J&K) associated with Al-Falah Hospital, where the explosives and weapons were hidden.
Commissioner Gupta confirmed that inquiries are ongoing to ascertain the origin and intended use of the confiscated materials, indicating it is part of a broader operation targeting an emerging terror network.
