Devprayag, April 12 (NationPress) In a heartbreaking event, five individuals from a single family tragically lost their lives when their car plunged into a river in Devprayag, situated in Uttarakhand’s Tehri district, on Saturday, according to officials.
The vehicle reportedly went off course and fell into a deep ravine, leading to a catastrophic crash, authorities mentioned.
At the time of the incident, six people were inside the vehicle. Miraculously, one woman was rescued from the debris and is presently receiving medical attention while still in a state of shock. The other five occupants died at the scene.
The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) initiated a rescue mission soon after receiving the call for help. Rescue teams utilized cranes and heavy machinery to extract the wrecked vehicle from the river, a process that took several hours due to the challenging terrain.
