Amaravati, Feb 9 (NationPress) Tragically, four women agricultural laborers lost their lives when the tractor they were on overturned on the embankment of a canal in Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district on Sunday.
Additionally, three other individuals sustained injuries in the incident that took place at the Madala major canal close to Bollavaram village in Muppalla mandal.
As per the police report, the mishap occurred when the tractor's driver lost control of the vehicle.
The victims, hailing from Chagantivaripalem village, were on their way home after a day of work on a chili farm.
The deceased have been identified as M. Samarajyam (50), M. Gangamma (55), C. Madhavi (30), and T. Padmavathi (45).
Upon receiving the distress call, police promptly arrived at the scene to initiate a rescue operation.
The injured individuals, who were trapped beneath the tractor, were extricated and transported to Sattenapalli Government Hospital, where their conditions are reported to be critical.
Palnadu District Superintendent of Police Srinivasa Rao and other officials inspected the site of the accident.
The bodies of the four deceased women were also taken to Sattenapalli hospital for post-mortem examination.
