New Delhi, April 11 (NationPress) The Delhi Police has successfully dismantled a gambling racket in the Vasant Vihar locality of the city, leading to the arrest of four individuals involved in the illegal activity. A substantial amount of over Rs 31,000 in cash, alongside carbon papers and notepads, was seized during the operation.
This action was part of a larger initiative by the South-West Delhi Police, which was prompted by confidential information received by a Sub-Inspector on Wednesday, as they strive to pinpoint and dismantle organized crime operations.
The individuals detained by the Anti Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of the Delhi Police have been named as Pappu Bagh, Sanjay, Mandeep Kumar Gupta, and Karan, all aged between 25 and 31 years.
“A total stake amount of Rs 31,060, four notepads, three carbon papers, and three pens were retrieved from their belongings,” stated an official report.
The gambling operation was being conducted in an open space in D-block of the Nepali camp located in Vasant Vihar. The police team, including Sub-inspector Ved Prakash, ASI Parveen, Head constables Prashant and Hariom, and Inspector Ram Kumar, executed the raids under the oversight of ACP Vijay Kumar.
Upon entering the location, the police discovered four individuals engaged in gambling activities with numbering pads. Further scrutiny revealed notepads for recording the gambling amounts, carbon papers, and cash that were also retrieved from them.
A case has been registered under the Public Gambling Act, leading to the arrest of all four individuals.
