New Delhi, Jan 13 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, addressed an election rally in Seelampur for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections during the "Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Constitution" event. In his speech, he directed his criticism at both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal, accusing them of making false promises.
Rahul Gandhi remarked: "Just as PM Narendra Modi does, Kejriwal also engages in false promises. Both leaders pledged to decrease inflation, yet it continues to rise. The poor are becoming increasingly impoverished while the rich thrive. Kejriwal claimed he would clean up Delhi and eliminate corruption, aspiring to transform it into a city like Paris. However, the reality is that pollution levels are alarming, people are falling ill, and they struggle to step outside. Like PM Modi, Kejriwal also makes false promises. There is no distinction between the two."
He added: "When I advocate for a caste-based census, neither PM Modi nor Kejriwal responds. Both wish to prevent backward classes, Dalits, tribals, and minorities from receiving their rightful share in governance and resources. I have informed PM Modi that irrespective of his actions, the moment Congress assumes power, we will expand the reservation limit beyond 50 percent. We will push for the caste-based census proposal in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. I challenge Kejriwal to publicly commit to increasing the reservation limit and conducting a caste-based census. Once Congress is in power in Delhi, we will initiate this census.
Rahul Gandhi also expressed: "An ideological battle is currently unfolding in our nation. On one side are those who will staunchly defend the Constitution regardless of the circumstances. The Constitution explicitly states that India is the homeland of every Indian."
He concluded: "As long as I am alive, you have my word -- if any Indian faces aggression, no matter their religion -- Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Christian, or any caste -- Dalit or backward -- I, Rahul Gandhi, will be there to defend them."
Rahul Gandhi criticized the BJP, stating: "The BJP and RSS are intent on dismantling the Constitution. They propagate hatred and seek to create discord among brothers. We journeyed 4,000 kilometers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to safeguard the Constitution.
