He plans to initiate a protest and formally lodge a complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka.
This announcement was made during a press briefing at the Hilton Hotel in Bengaluru.
When questioned about the LoP's upcoming visit to Bengaluru and the allegations of electoral fraud, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah confirmed that Rahul Gandhi has proof concerning irregularities that took place during the Lok Sabha elections in the Mahadevapura and Rajajinagar Assembly constituencies.
He mentioned that LoP Gandhi intends to protest on August 4 and will subsequently meet with the Chief Electoral Officer regarding this matter.
Regarding the Congress MP's visit to Bengaluru, Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara commented, "An SOP has been developed within the domain of the Bengaluru City Commissionerate, ready for implementation. The department has significant experience managing such events, so we do not anticipate a massive turnout. Leaders and party members from adjacent districts are expected to join, as indicated by the party president."
All necessary measures will be enacted by the police department, and LoP Gandhi has been granted Z+ category security, added HM Parameshwara.
Deputy Chief Minister and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President D.K. Shivakumar stated that the KPCC research division has provided crucial information regarding alleged electoral malpractice to the senior Congress leader.
In a conversation with reporters in Bengaluru on Wednesday, Deputy CM Shivakumar mentioned, "I believe Rahul Gandhi will arrive in Bengaluru on August 5. We are still in the discussion phase, and I prefer not to reveal specifics for now. Rahul Gandhi will clarify everything; he has more details."
"The KPCC research team has supplied the LoP with extensive information on electoral misconduct. Our team was the one who brought these electoral irregularities to his attention, which is why he is visiting Bengaluru," he continued.
"I extend an invitation to all MLAs, block-level Congress leaders, ministers, and senior leaders to participate in the event on August 5, on behalf of the party."
"On Thursday, AICC General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala will be arriving in Bengaluru. He has also arranged a meeting with office bearers and district presidents. I am holding a separate meeting with leaders from the Bengaluru division to provide guidance," Deputy CM Shivakumar concluded.
