Aizawl, January 16 (NationPress) Former Union Minister and Army chief, Gen Vijay Kumar Singh (retd), was sworn in as the 25th Governor of Mizoram on Thursday. The oath of office and secrecy was administered by Gauhati High Court Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi during a modest ceremony held at Raj Bhavan.
Present at the event were Chief Minister Lalduhoma, his Cabinet members, Assembly Speaker Lalbiakzama, and senior officials from security, civil, and military sectors. The ceremony was conducted by Chief Secretary Khilli Ram Meena.
Former Chief Ministers Lal Thanhawla (Congress) and Zoramthanga (Mizo National Front), along with church leaders and representatives from various organizations, also attended.
Singh was appointed to the gubernatorial position by President Droupadi Murmu on December 24.
