Begusarai, June 1 (NationPress) Union Minister Giriraj Singh fiercely criticized Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, on Sunday, accusing him of undermining the courage of the Indian armed forces by demanding evidence of the damage caused during Operation Sindoor.
Singh condemned Kharge's comments following Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan's remarks regarding "aircraft loss" amid the recent conflicts, and he dismissed Pakistan's assertion of downing six Indian jets as "completely inaccurate".
"It is regrettable for the nation that the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha hails from Congress and raises such inquiries. If they still seek evidence of Operation Sindoor, they should approach Pakistan for proof. Pakistan cannot provide any, and it is disheartening that the Congress party has consistently demanded validation of the army's bravery," Singh expressed to reporters.
"Operation Sindoor has received global acclaim. It was executed in response to the targeted assaults in Pahalgam. Unlike our adversaries (Pakistan), we conducted precise strikes against terrorists without risking civilian lives; this has been praised worldwide," he continued.
Giriraj Singh went on to accuse Kharge of collaborating with India's enemies.
"Kharge is echoing Pakistan's rhetoric. He should feel ashamed to make such statements as the Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha," Singh stated.
On Saturday, Kharge had called for the Centre to convene a special parliamentary session following General Chauhan's comments in an interview in Singapore.
The Congress leader also urged for a thorough independent assessment of India's defense readiness, similar to the Kargil Review Committee.
General Chauhan firmly refuted Pakistan's claims in the interview, asserting that the allegations are "absolutely incorrect".
Meanwhile, Air Marshal A.K. Bharti, Director General of Air Operations, previously remarked, "Losses are inherent in battle", while confirming that all Indian Air Force pilots returned safely.
