Pichai recently met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss India's advancements in AI and explore potential collaborations with the nation’s talented workforce.
“It was wonderful to meet with PM Modi this morning. We talked about how Google is contributing to his vision of embedding AI at all levels in India to enhance health services, broaden access to information in multiple languages, support startups, agriculture, and much more,” Pichai mentioned in a post on X.
“I appreciate Prime Minister Modi for convening this remarkable summit,” he further stated.
PM Modi highlighted that their discussions revolved around India’s swift development in AI and the prospects for a stronger partnership between the government and Google in this domain.
He emphasized the necessity of utilizing India's skilled youth and tech professionals to reinforce the country's standing in the AI arena.
“It was a pleasure to meet Sundar Pichai during the AI Impact Summit in Delhi,” PM Modi expressed.
“We discussed the initiatives India is undertaking in AI and how Google can collaborate with our skilled students and professionals in this field,” he noted.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) later shared highlights from their meeting on its official YouTube channel, providing insights into the dialogue between the two leaders.
The 'India AI Impact Summit 2026' is being conducted at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from February 16 to 20. This summit has brought together policymakers, industry leaders, academics, innovators, and civil society representatives from around the globe.
The goal is to create a global platform for discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in artificial intelligence. Over 110 countries and 30 international organizations are partaking in the summit, with around 20 Heads of State or Government and nearly 45 ministers in attendance.
