Gandhinagar, April 10 (NationPress) The Gujarat government is set to enhance its partnership with Taiwan in the field of advanced manufacturing, having officially signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish an India-Taiwan Industrial Park in the Sanand–Dholera region, as announced by officials on Friday.

This agreement, formalized in Gandhinagar, unites the Department of Science and Technology of the Gujarat government with Allegiance International Company Limited to develop the envisaged industrial park, which aims to create a manufacturing ecosystem centered on semiconductors, electronics, electric vehicles, and robotics.

The signing event was graced by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia.

Simon Lee, Vice President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in India and Chairman of the Allegiance Group, along with P. Bharathi, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology, were the signatories of this MoU.

Officials indicated that this initiative is designed to fortify industrial connections between Indian and Taiwanese firms by establishing a dedicated hub for high-tech manufacturing and supply chain integration.

The industrial park is projected to be constructed in the Sanand–Dholera corridor, which has become a pivotal industrial area within the state.

This initiative anticipates attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) exceeding Rs 1,000 crore, predominantly from Taiwanese enterprises operating in the semiconductor and electronics domains.

Moreover, it is estimated that approximately 12,000 direct jobs will be generated over the forthcoming five years.

Officials from the state government noted that this proposed development aligns with the goals of the India Semiconductor Mission and Gujarat’s broader strategy to position itself as a nucleus for high-tech industries.

They also highlighted that projects related to semiconductors and other sectors valued over Rs 1.24 lakh crore are already in various stages of execution within the state.
