Ahmedabad, Dec 1 (NationPress) The intensive revision of Gujarat's electoral roll for the upcoming 2025 elections is nearing completion, with the vital enumeration phase expected to proceed until December 11.
Guided by the Election Commission of India and led by Chief Electoral Officer Hareet Shukla, the CEO office is working closely with district election officers across the state to ensure this extensive task is finished punctually.
Over 5 crore registered voters included in the 2025 draft roll have already been distributed their enumeration forms, with nearly all of the state's 33 districts reaching a 100 percent distribution.
Officials report that the remaining districts are on track to meet their goals soon.
The forms submitted by voters are being rapidly digitized, showcasing significant progress in this endeavor.
Remarkably, two Assembly constituencies—Dhanera in Banaskantha and Limkheda in Dahod—have achieved a full 100 percent digitization of all received forms.
Among the various districts, Dang leads with 93.14 percent digitization, followed closely by Gir Somnath at 88.91 percent, Banaskantha at 88.42 percent, Sabarkantha at 88.32 percent, and Morbi at 88 percent.
Others, including Mahisagar, Chhota Udepur, Panchmahal, Patan, and Surendranagar, all exceed 86 percent.
This enumeration process has uncovered significant updates within the voter database.
Throughout the state, 15.58 lakh deceased individuals remain listed, over 4 lakh voters were absent from their registered addresses, and 21.86 lakh individuals are noted as having permanently moved.
Additionally, more than 2.68 lakh duplicate entries were identified. These findings underscore the critical nature of this ongoing effort to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the voter list ahead of significant electoral events.
The CEO office has commended the dedication of Gujarat's BLOs, whose on-ground efforts have been pivotal in driving this revision process effectively.
Officials have encouraged BLOs to connect with their local election offices for any operational challenges as the state strives to finalize one of its most extensive voter roll clean-up initiatives to date.
