Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Bhopal, Feb 9 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla voiced his significant dissatisfaction on Monday regarding the slow progress of the water supply initiative for the Gurh industrial area. He has urged officials to accelerate the foundational infrastructure work to draw in investments.
In a high-stakes review meeting with top departmental leaders, Deputy CM Shukla pointed out that the Rs 16 crore water project has been lagging despite the state government's earlier endorsement and allocation of funds.
While the state government sanctioned the Gurh water project with a budget of Rs 16 crore, the relevant authorities have yet to see its completion.
“This initiative aims to supply 5 MLD of water to both the Gurh Nagar Parishad and the Gurh Industrial Area. Finalizing this project will enhance the water distribution network in the Gurh region and will also aid in the growth of the industrial sector,” Shukla remarked.
Shukla, a prominent BJP figure from Rewa, emphasized that robust basic services—such as electricity, water, roads, and drainage—are vital for the effective development of any industrial zone. “The absence of these essential services has deterred industrial enterprises from investing in the area, negatively impacting local industrial growth,” he noted.
During the review, Shukla instructed officials to prioritize development tasks in the Gurh Industrial Area, ensuring that immediate and effective measures are taken to expand electricity, roadways, water supply, and other vital services.
He asserted that the comprehensive development of the Gurh Industrial Area would bolster the industrial stature of the Rewa district and generate substantial job prospects for local youth.
The establishment of industries will enhance both direct and indirect employment, improving the economic conditions of the region. He also highlighted the need for all relevant departments to work in harmony.
Notably, during a recent visit to Rewa, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced plans for a new 100-acre industrial zone in the Gurh area to stimulate local industrial advancement and job creation.
